Privacy Policy
Last updated: 9 July 2026
This policy explains what personal information JB Sites collects, why, how it's looked after, and the rights you have over it. No jargon.
1. Who I am
JB Sites is a one-person business — a sole trader based in the United Kingdom, run by Jamie Billingham ("I", "me", "JB Sites"). I'm the "data controller" for the information described here. You can reach me any time at hello@jbsites.co.uk. As a small business I'm not required to appoint a Data Protection Officer, so you can raise anything about your personal data with me directly.
2. What I collect
I only collect what I need to answer you and build your site:
- When you use the free mockup enquiry form: your name, email address, business name and what you do, and the note you write about what you'd like your site to achieve.
- When you use the project brief form: your name, business name, email, phone/WhatsApp number, and the project details you choose to share — pages you'd like, add-ons, booking system, tagline, brand colours, logo status, sites you like, whether your content and photos are ready, social media links, domain name, and any other notes.
- Anything you send me directly by email or message.
- Basic technical data: when you visit the site, my host and a few third-party services (see below) automatically process your device's IP address to deliver the pages. I don't run analytics or advertising trackers.
You don't have to give me any of this — but I need the basics (your name, contact details and a description of what you want) to reply to you and build your site. Without them, I can't provide the service. There's no automated decision-making or profiling: I read and handle every enquiry myself.
3. Why I use it, and my lawful basis
- To reply to your enquiry and prepare your free mockup — this is me taking steps at your request before we enter a contract, and my legitimate interest in responding to people who get in touch.
- To design, build, deliver and support your website if you decide to go ahead — to perform our contract.
- To keep the records I'm legally required to keep, such as for tax — a legal obligation.
4. Who I share it with
I use a small number of trusted providers to run the site and handle your messages. They only process your data to provide their service to me:
- Formspree — receives, stores and emails me your form submissions.
- Cloudflare — hosts the website.
- Google Fonts and cdnjs (Cloudflare) — serve the fonts and scripts the site uses; they may receive your IP address.
- My email provider — so I can receive and reply to you.
I do not sell your data or share it for advertising.
5. Transfers outside the UK
Some of these providers (for example Formspree) are based outside the UK. Where your data is transferred abroad, it's protected by appropriate safeguards — such as the UK International Data Transfer Agreement, Standard Contractual Clauses, or a country the UK recognises as having adequate protection.
6. How long I keep it
- Enquiries that don't become projects: up to 12 months, then deleted.
- Client project records: for the length of your project and up to 6 years afterwards, to meet tax and accounting requirements.
7. Cookies
This site doesn't set tracking or analytics cookies. The third-party services above may set strictly necessary cookies purely to function — for example when you submit a form.
8. Your rights
Under UK data protection law you can ask me to: give you a copy of your data; correct it; delete it; restrict or object to how I use it; or provide it in a portable format. Where I rely on your consent, you can withdraw it at any time. Just email hello@jbsites.co.uk and I'll sort it, usually within a month.
I won't use your details for marketing, and I'll only contact you about your enquiry or project — unless you ask me to do otherwise.
9. Complaints
I'd always like the chance to put things right first, so please contact me. You also have the right to complain to the UK's regulator, the Information Commissioner's Office (ICO) — ico.org.uk, or 0303 123 1113.
10. Children
This service is aimed at businesses and isn't directed at anyone under 18.
11. Changes to this policy
If I update this policy, I'll change the date at the top. Please check back from time to time.
